Dermal fillers are injectable gels that smooth wrinkles, define facial contours, plump thin lips, and restore lost volume associated with the natural aging process to areas including cheeks, chin and jawline. COMMON TREATMENT AREAS Smile Lines (Nasolabial Folds) Lip Augmentation & Enhancement Marionette Lines (around the mouth) Fuller Cheeks Dark Circles (undereye circles or tear troughs) Smoker Lines (wrinkles around the lips) Results vary but can last from 6-18 months. Your injector will be able to assess your needs and devise a treatment plan to address your concerns. The results of dermal fillers are not permanent, and patients may require touch-up procedures. During your dermal filler injection, you will relax in our private treatment room. After your skin is cleansed, prepared, and marked, a topical anesthetic will be applied to minimize any pain. Our injector will then use a fine needle to inject the filler beneath your skin. After your filler injections, you can return to the majority of your normal daily activities. Some bruising and swelling may be present, and strenuous physical activity should be avoided for 1 – 2 days to prevent exacerbating these side effects. Some things you can do prior to filler injections to boost your comfort, response, and results: avoid smoking minimize alcohol consumption Avoid blood thinners, Ibuprofen, and certain supplements Do not use Retinol-based products and other skin care products (as advised by your provider) for several days prior to your treatment. Avoid sun exposure, exfoliants, tweezing, and other skin irritants Most patients return to their daily routines almost immediately after getting filler injections, though bruising and swelling may occur. To minimize bruising and swelling after filler injections, patients can use a cold compress, use over-the-counter medication or supplements such as Arnica.
