Neurotoxins are injectable compounds that relax muscles, smoothing out lines and wrinkles. There are several brands of neurotoxins, and one of the most well known is BOTOX® Cosmetic. At Laganese MediSpa, we use a variety of neurotoxins including BOTOX® along with Xeomin® and Dysport®. These neurotoxins are used to target specific areas of the face and neck to relax muscle tension and smooth lines and wrinkles. Treatment Options for neurotoxins include: Frown lines Forehead Lines Bunny Lines Crow’s Feet Lip Flip Bunny Lines Brow Lift Masseter (TMJ) Other Microtox Who Should Consider Neurotoxin Treatments? Neurotoxins are for patients who are in good health over the age of 20, who are interested in reducing facial and neck lines. Our highly trained practitioner will work with you to evaluate which specific treatments are right for you. We’ll provide you with detailed information on all your options so you can make an informed decision about what is best for you. What To Expect During Treatment First, we discuss your goals, and a customized treatment plan is created. Since neurotoxins provide temporary results, your plan will likely include 3-4 visits per year to achieve optimal results while maintaining a consistent look. Neurotoxins are administered in a series of targeted injections that normally take about 15 minutes. You may notice some minor swelling or redness, but each normally dissipate quickly. You may resume your normal activities with the following exceptions: *avoid lying flat for 4 hours after treatment *avoid excess alcohol *avoid rigorous exercise for 24 hours *do not rub or massage the treatment areas (avoid facials for one week) What Kind of Results Should I expect following neurotoxin treatment? After treatment, many people begin noticing that lines start smoothing in 3-7 days. Improvement continues for several days afterward to produce optimal results, usually seen by 14 days. Treatments last for three to four months before they need to be repeated. The long-term treatment plan you create will determine when to schedule your next treatment. How Do I Get Started?
